A Seat at the Table 2020

This very special event highlights an amazing partnership between many of Asheville's top chefs and Haywood Street's Downtown Welcome Table. More than a meal, the Downtown Welcome Table is a way to love and connect. It is restaurant quality fare served on abundant plates to hundreds of friends and neighbors each week -- many of whom are experiencing homelessness or struggling in poverty. The meal is served family style and all are invited to linger at the table.It is a powerful way to remind folks of their inherent worth and value while helping to break barriers that divide the 'haves' from the 'have nots.'

Our chef partners are planning a lovely evening of food and festivities in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Rhubarb, to raise funds and awareness for the Downtown Welcome Table. We will begin at 5:30 pm with appetizers and entertainment in the event space adjoining Rhubarb with The Rhu, followed by a seated dinner with wine to complement. Enter through The Rhu at 10 S. Michelle Bailey of Smoky Park Supper Club is offering an al fresco experience for twelve on the banks of the French Broad in the River Arts District with wood-fired chef's dinner in the Boathouse with wine pairings and live music.

Jacob Sessoms is offering dinner for eight in his Arts & Crafts home in historic Montford, with wine pairings provided by Table Wine. Enjoy cocktails and sunset on the front porch, with an intimate 5-course chef's dinner served by Jacob and his wife, Alicia.

Stu Helm, Asheville's infamous "Food Fan" and blogger, is offering a special progressive dinner for eight. This is a moving feast, a coursed meal through downtown Asheville including stops at five of Asheville finest restaurants, cafes and bars. Show up hungry and curious, as Asheville Food Tours are stacked with food, beverages, history and insider tips and info along the way!

A seasonal CSA subscription featuring flowers from Flying Cloud Farm, meats from Hickory Nut Gap, produce from Gaining Ground Farm, and baked goods from The Rhu.
